A 24H ESCAPE – Roermond, Netherlands

Escape is definitely the right word, since I’m feeling quite ’stuck‘ at the moment. I hate the beginning months of the year, the weather is horrible, everything feels so goddamn grey and slow, motivation and inspiration included. So usual we go on our big yearly vacation during these months. Well not this year, since a new apartment and hopefully a soon to be move is our one big (financial) priority this year.

So we decided to plan at least some short 1-3 night trips this year, even if it’s only a 1 hour journey, just to get out of our usual surroundings for a bit. Luckily we were invited for a one night stay at Roermond by the Designer Outlet in this adorable Dutch city. We’ve been there so many times, but never had the time to actually check out the city. Since I’m currently just stuck behind my desk, this was a welcomed little trip. It’s actually quite shocking what a short 24 hour escape, without work, good food and just some strolls through a foreign destination can do to your mind.

I’m the worst overthinker and this year is going to be full of changes, personally and professionally, I’m quite stressed and worried at the moment. So it was just nice to escape this for a bit, clear our minds and come back with a fresh perspective. Sounds so cliché, but it actually helped me so much with focussing on my priorities again.
