And the archived Lake To-Do List. Archived but not forgotten. Because someone can surely dream of a quick return to the province of Como. This time with more than 48 hours on hand.

Our recommendations and everything else we didn't have the time to do and archived for our next visit.
rent a BOAT
Definitely the most exquisite pleasure on the lake, which (I can confirm) creates moments you will never forget. I received this boat trip as a gift for my 30th birthday and will remember these precious hours forever. Find all our boat rent tips + my Birthday Edit here.
take a ride on a FERRY>
The way more affortable option to discover the lake by boat without sacrificing the beautiful panoramic view. The ferries run at regular intervals between the larger villages on the lake and also stop at the beautiful villas.
visit the spectacular VILLAS + GARDENS
Like the famous Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo from the 17th century or Villa Balbianello which is located on the Lavedo peninsula in Lenno. Formerly built as summer residences, they now serve as museums with impressive and elaborately designed parks.
climb surrounding MOUNTAINS>
We planned a hike Alpe del Viceré, but unfortunately we didn’t have enough time. However, if you want to enjoy the scenic views over the lake, be sure to plan such an excursion. We always use the App Komoot which offers a lot of routes for every (sportive) demand.
hike around the many DAMS>
Around the lakes of Como and Maggiore there are a number of impressive dams and therefore landscapes worth seeing for a hike. Among others, we had planned the dam Diga di Verzasca at Lake Maggiore.
day trip to LAGO MAGGIORE>
Talking about Lago Maggiore, a place that has a very special place in my heart. A spot where I had been as a child and wanted to see again so bad. But we had slightly overestimated the length of our stay and had to postpone this visit to our next Italy tour.
